New Features of RTgabion

RTgabion supports as geotechnical software the design of slope stabilisation through gabion walls. The terrain, the earth layer formation and the geometric arrangement of the gabion elements can be defined arbitrarily. The following new features are available:

  • Adaptation to the latest generation of Eurocodes standards and operation under Windows®10
  • Adaptation of the partial safety factors on the resistance aspect
  • Working with height notations now also available with positive z-axis
  • Earth pressure redistribution for stability analysis
  • Tabular editing of earth layers from the database and the project
  • Tabular editing of colour specifications



  • Verifications according to DIN and EN 1997-1 with national annexes for DE, AT, and CZ
  • Parameterisable, polygonal surface and terrain database
  • Simple input of rectangular segments and, if necessary, a bottom polygonal segment as well as special shapes
  • Automatic generation of slide joints at the contact surfaces of the segments for the analysis of internal safety
  • Specification of an uphill and downhill water horizon for hydrostatic analysis of water levels
  • Design for slide and lateral buckling stability, stability against general failure, bearing capacity, settlement analysis as well as element failure analysis for single gabions
