Underpinning Walls

PINWALLS - Underpinning of buildings

New Features of PINwalls

PINwalls has been successfully implemented to design underpinning in practice and guarantees reliable and comprehensible structural design results. This software application is particularly characterized by continuous representations of the excavation and retreating stages as FEM system. The following new features are available:

  • From version 19 on, all new program versions are installed in parallel
  • Improvement for the slip circle check
  • Adaptation to the latest generation of Eurocodes standards and operability under Windows®10
  • Adaptation of the partial safety factors on the resistance aspect
  • Extensions for SLS analyses
  • Working with height notations now also available with positive z-axis
  • Earth pressure redistribution for stability analyses
  • Tabular editing of earth layers from the database and the project
  • Tabular editing of colour specifications

Overview

  • Parameterisable, polygonal ground level and material database
  • Edit special shapes with polygon editor
  • Different earth pressure approaches for the stability analyses are considered
  • Consideration of different excavation and retreating stages
  • Determination of internal forces, stresses, anchor forces, deformations and soil pressures
  • Determination of the required anchor lengths from the stability analysis in the sliding joint
  • Design for sliding and lateral buckling resistance, stability, global stability, bearing capacity, settlement analysis as well as base pressure, bending and shear analysis

Benefits

The output of text and graphics is performed via Windows® service programmes for the static system of underpinning, earth pressures including redistributions, shear force and deformation distribution, as well as friction circle and base failure analysis. RTpinwalls is a powerful geotechnical application and provides the following advantages:

  • completely graphic-oriented input including overview at one glance and optimum control of all modifications
  • calculation and design of the wall-anchor-system with a powerful FEM-solver
  • clearly arranged working environment and programme control
  • fast familiarisation via sensitive elements and chain dimensioning
  • online manual with comprehensive support environment
  • usage of templates
  • clearly arranged and complete result output including graphics and preview functions
