Client’s Requirements 

M4 Mixed Development is a BIM based project that required LOD 300. Revit was selected as the authoring tool and the client requested the QS to undertake 3D measurement. The QS selected CostX for 3D Measurement. 

BMP’s contributions 

BIM Management Practice Sdn Bhd (BMP) undertook 5D-BIM QS Services and was responsible for undertaking the 3D measurement. BMP used CostX to prepare the BQ by using the .dwfx model provided by the architect. BMP also advised the client and other team members on drawing optimisation to comply with BIM requirements and ensure the 3D Model prepared by all respective consultants was simulated as per the guideline and standard provided. 

Making the Difference 

The building model in .dwfx format was imported to RIB CostX. By using a BIM Model Map, the QS undertook 3D Measurement and prepared the Bill of Quantities (BQ). Measured Quantities were then checked against the client’s KPI, and the client was satisfied with the cost estimate and BQ accuracy.
