Development of a program for the calculation of visibility on planned roads. Start of automatic drawing - extension of work to other areas of construction: tunnelling and hydraulic engineering. Digital terrain models are created for the first time. Shortly afterwards, the first finite element program (FEM) in Germany for plates, discs and folding units is applied in the German construction industry.
Introduction of the trend-setting program system IDEALOG for AVA, which establishes itself as market leader in a very short time. RIB later establishes itself in public administration the IDEALOG® modules for AVA and cost estimation are used under a general license for all public construction administrations of the federal and state governments (ISYBAU project).
The programs for road construction and civil engineering are combined under STRATIS® and RIBTEC® for structural engineering. RIB develops the complete solution ARRIBA® for tendering, awarding and accounting as well as calculation and construction management under the professional supervision of large German construction groups. The RIB program systems are converted to Windows® technology with a new user-friendly interface.
In order to implement new, innovative solutions in short cycles and to successfully implement the new strategy, RIB is continuously strengthening its own development team and establishes an international R&D center in Guangzhou, China, in 2004. At the end of 2009 and 2010, we continued our international expansion and opened 10 new regional offices, three in the USA, two in China and one each in Dubai, India, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong.
In October 2009 we introduced the German version of RIB iTWO. RIB iTWO enables the virtual execution planning and control of projects as well as the simulation of production and maintenance processes. We introduced the English version of RIB iTWO in April 2010, the Chinese version of RIB iTWO with simplified characters in July 2010.
RIB Software AG shares have been listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since February 8, 2011. The issue price of the RIB share was € 9.25. The proceeds were used to further promote the iTWO enterprise solution. With investments in the development of new software solutions, we are increasingly focusing on innovations.
In November 2013, RIB Software AG hosts the first iTWO World Conference in Hong Kong, which has been held annually since then and has established itself as an integral part of the iTWO community.
On April 3, 2017, RIB Software AG completed its conversion into a European Company (Societas Europaea/SE) and now trades under the name RIB Software SE. The RIB Group now has subsidiaries in more than 20 countries worldwide.
Launch of the MTWO business cloud platform for comprehensive digitalisation of the construction industry: With RIB MTWO, RIB and Microsoft are creating a cloud platform for integrated project and enterprise management that is customised for the construction and real estate industry.
RIB becomes a subsidiary of Schneider Electric SE and operates as RIB Software GmbH as from February 2022. The synergies in the integration of globally leading process and energy technologies make RIB a powerful partner for sustainable planning and construction.
