The company's 'flagship projects in the UK include The Daiwa Building in the City of London, the award-winning Stockley Park near Heathrow Airport, and Asda's out-of-town superstore near Swansea in South Wales.
One of the company's primary objectives is to leverage the power of information technology to contribute to its overall profitability. The expansion of Kajima's UK operations has, therefore, created the need to introduce a more sophisticated and robust suite of management information processes and systems to fulfil this goal.
Kajima embarked on a major programme to identify a bespoke, flexible, market-leading accounting software product that would integrate seamlessly with its existing cost management system.
An intensive evaluation of leading accounting packages available in the market led to Kajima's selection of RIB Software's powerful financial system - RIB FSuite - for the control and management of its accounting processes.

Kajima's selection of RIB FSuite was confirmed after a three-day visit and demonstration of the product's features and benefits at RIB Software's headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
To implement the system and manage the overall programme, an integrated team of Kajima, RIB Software and project management consultants, PricewaterhouseCoopers, was formed.
The team developed a close working relationship and created a three-phase vision:
- to replicate Kajima's existing accounting system
- to integrate the new system with its cost estimating and post contract controlling function
- to implement the wishes of its users to make their lives easier and their role more fulfilling.
The strength of commitment of the team led to full data migration, 'live' implementation and successful auditing of the system within eight months of placing the order - a momentous, fast-track effort.

For example, project teams using RIB CSuite can interrogate and drill down into RIB FSuite in real time for a full supplier payment history and audit trail, including changes resulting from value engineering initiatives. This is of particular benefit to Kajima's site-based project personnel.
